God Creates Change Through...

1)        His Word  (spoken and written)

3)        His Teaching
"He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." 4:2b NIV

4)        His Spirit (John 16:8)

6)        His Opposition
"For the Lord has a case against his people...you will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer you. 7)        His Calamity

God’s Complaint

"They sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals. They trample on the heads of the poor...and deny justice to the oppressed...women who oppress the poor and crush the needy...stealing their grain through taxes and unfair rent...You oppress good people by taking bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts." 2:6-7 NIV; 4:1 NLT; 5:11-12 NLT

"You people hate anyone who challenges injustice and speaks the whole truth in court."  5:10 GNT (see 7:10-17)


God’s Response

1. Seek Out The Lord

2. Seek to Do Good, do not  Evil

"Make it your aim to do what is right, not what is evil, so that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty really will be with you, as you claim he is. Hate what is evil, love what is right." 5:14-15a GNT

3. Work to Establish Justice

"See that justice prevails in the courts. Perhaps the Lord will be merciful to the people of this nation who are still left alive." 5:14-15b GNT

What Does It Take For You To Listen?


The Day Of The Lord Is Coming

1. To the lost, a day of final Judgment

2. To the merely Christian, loss of all they hold valuable

"If any man builds...his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light... the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames."   1 Corinthians 3:13-15 NIV

3. To the Faithful, a day of rejoicing


God Uses Crisis To Get Our Attention
